So you use that to shoot your wire over, then you can pull your cable up. Good thinking on the hack.

Both work equally as well. With the cord as high as possible, I would tie a insulator or pulley to the cord having the wire then drop it vertically to the ground keeping it away from the tree as much as possible. I would try different ways to see which gives me the best signal.

I use a bow & arrow with a reel tye wrapped to the bow. The arrow is weighted to help gravity pull it down. I can't aim with a sling shot very well and I shoot for the higher limbs. However, the arrow tends to get tangled up in a dense crown more than a slingshot weight.

I found that the tree (pine tree) soon grows over the rope or sweats enough sap to make it very difficult to pull loose after a while. I experiment with antennas often and it seemed like by the time I wanted to try another antenna it the rope was firmly stuck.

Now I pull up a pulley with the antenna rope through it.

Fun ways to do stuff. Nice rig you made.

My buddy gave me a Signal link and cables so when I get my call sign I can get the Ham deluxe software and use my PC and go digital........
